This blog post is a big one, and it sure is a special one! Meg & Nate are married, y’all, and their wedding was one that I know everyone involved will remember forever! You see… their wedding was actually a SURPRISE! Their guests and family knew that these two were tying the knot, but where […]

These two drove all the way from PENNSYLVANIA for their engagement session! It’s not often that couples drive that far for their sessions, but when Maddie saw Manassas Battlefields on the blog, she knew that this would be the perfect spot! She loves long, flowy grass and gorgeous rolling views, and that’s exactly what we […]

Ahh I am SO excited about today’s post! It actually came as a request from one of my sweet followers, and I thought it was such an amazing idea! I know that being in front of the camera can feel a little uncomfortable at times… I get it! Being photographed by a professional photographer can be a little nerve wracking… you’re dressed up, you’ve made a financial & time investment, and now she’s asking you to kiss and giggle in front of a camera?! Phew… that’s enough to kick in almost anyone’s adrenaline!

I looked at my calendar this week and realized that, as of this Saturday, I have officially called Washington, DC home for TWO years now! WOW time flies! Last year, I shared a letter to myself. I shared the words that I would have told the girl getting off the plane, fresh out of college with a dream and not a whole lot of plans. I reread this post this week, and I cried like a baby. It was a bit embarrassing… thankfully, I was alone in my apartment. Goodness… how so many things have changed and how so many things have stayed exactly the same.

Let me tell y’all about Carolina & Brandon…. When we got out of our cars in Old Town Alexandria, I felt like I was meeting up with two old friends! These two are the warmest, most genuine people and just make you feel GOOD when you are in their presence! Carolina greeted me with gluten free/dairy free blueberry muffins (that were absolutely amazing) and the sweetest little succulent that I’ve ever seen… what?! How did I get so lucky?? They’re the kind of people that think of others first and that know how to hold each other just right. We spent their session plotting ways to steal every dog that passed by while touring Old Town on foot, which let me know that they’re my kind of people.

These two… I just can’t, y’all! I had so much fun with Francis and Daniel. A little bit of a back story… these two absolutely LOVE flowers, so much so that Francis’s engagement ring is custom designed to look like a FLOWER (It is gorgeous, just wait ’til you see it!). So naturally, a cherry blossom […]

Ahh friends… I have SO much pretty to share with you today! Just a few weeks ago, I was lucky enough to attend the Hope Taylor Workshop! If you don’t know Hope yet, I highly recommend that you give girlfriend’s site a visit. She is one incredible photographer, educator, and boss lady. I could go on […]

As a photographer, I often find myself wishing that I could control the weather! This specific morning, I found myself wishing I could crank up the heat for these two, even by a few degrees. If I am remembering correctly, the thermometer was reading 12 degrees, the real feel was -2, and the wind was […]

Y’all…I can’t even tell you how HAPPY this session made me! You see…about a million and one years ago, I had my very first photo session in this very park behind my home in Houston. Fast forward a few years, and I got to return to work with these two! It felt just like stepping […]
