I'm Caity, and this blog is my very favorite spot on the Internet! I'm a wedding photographer based in Washington, D.C. with a heart for serving others through my creative work. Tune in for the latest and greatest in my world!
I think it is about time they invent time machines… because I really wish I could hop in one to go back and re-live Katrina and Andrew’s wedding day all over again! It was absolutely PERFECT y’all! Mother Nature brought out ALL the stops— from the gorgeous gold and red leaves, a temperature that wasn’t too hot or too cold, and get this: SUN!!! YES! After the world’s rainiest wedding season, CKP finally got to celebrate with a couple on a SUNNY wedding day! I was definitely fan-girling Mother Nature all day long, but what I really loved seeing the most was how loved Katrina and Andrew are by their family and friends.
Bridget and Peter are just one of a kind. They’re funny, and they’re amazingly kind, and they are so incredibly thoughtful. From the moment Savannah and I arrived in the morning to the moment we gave them hugs on the dance floor at the end of the night, Bridget and Peter were constantly offering ways to make our lives easier… let me remind you that THEY were the ones getting married! You see… they are just the kind of people that truly care about those in their lives, and this was so evident on their wedding day. They love so well and are loved so well by so many. It is because of that very reason that I know they are perfect for each other.
I knew Katie & Charlie’s day was going to be pure magic the very moment I met them. These two are something beyond special. They’re funny, they’re caring, and they for sure know how to look absolutely amazing in front of the camera… Katie took the time to incorporate so many sweet, personal touches throughout their wedding day. From the bouquets of dried lavender that Katie tied herself… to sweet white pumpkins grown in Katie & her family’s gardens that were incorporated into reception center pieces… to sweet family heirlooms that Katie wore along with her bridal look, the time they’ve spent making memories at their venue leading up to their wedding day, and their ceremony that was officiated by Katie’s brother— their day was something so, so special. I cannot wait for you to get a peek into their wedding day at Chateau Bu De!!
Ok I need y’all all to know that today’s post comes with ALL THE FEELS! I met Liz a number of years ago when we were both fitness instructors at Penn State. She was one of my mentors and originally taught me how to teach barre fitness! Fast forward a few years, and I got an email from her, saying that she was ENGAGED and wanted me to be her wedding photographer. Being asked to play a very small part in documenting someone’s love story is always a huge honor, but when it is someone that you’ve known for years, it definitely hits you right in the feels! Having the opportunity to capture Liz & Tyler’s day was the biggest honor and privilege, and I spent most of Saturday with tears in my eyes.
