I’ve been hinting about this over on social for the longest time, and today you finally get to find out what it is I’ve been working on!!!!! CAIT KRAMER PHOTOGRAPHY IS GETTING A BRAND NEW LOOK Y’ALL!! PHEW I’ve been holding that in for a while and it feels SO good to share!

Attending the Katelyn James Workshop has been a huge dream and huge goal of mine for a long time, and the fact that it happened still doesn’t even feel one bit real. I can’t even remember the first time I found Katelyn’s work (she’s just kind of always been there!), but I know it was definitely when I was still in high school! Crazy, I know!! I’ve followed and learned from KJ for longer than I can even remember, have watched their family walk through seasons of celebration and grief, grew attached to her daughter and nephew through Instagram Stories, and let me tell you, sitting down to learn from her in her living room really felt surreal.

Doing a little happy dance over at my desk because IT’S FRIDAY, Y’ALL! Now, I’m not 100% sure why I get so excited about Friday these days… after all, I do work weekends and definitely don’t have Monday off for Labor Day, but I just can’t help it! Everyone is ALWAYS so happy on Friday, and it means that I (usually) get to work with a sweet couple the very next day. SO… even though my Friday’s don’t necessary mean the end of the workweek for me, CHEERS to the it being weekend eve! 

Happy Friday, my friends! I spent all week wondering what day it was and am now throwing up my praise hands because WE MADE IT! I’m going into my first off weekend since the beginning of June, and I can’t wait to see some of my friends! Today’s Friday Chatter is a post for my photog friends! Is anyone else feeling like we are having an extremely rainy wedding season?!

Full disclosure before we get the party started with this post: it is going to get real personal real fast.Have you ever had one of those rough weeks where you are hard on yourself… about everything? Where you feel intimidated and unworthy and just all around icky about life? I’ve been in that place recently, and oh my goodness am I feeling refreshed after last night. I am so, so thankful. 

Today’s post is for all my fellow vendors! We’ve been at this wedding season for a few months now, and I’m sure we have all become too familiar with the dreaded and inevitable next day wedding vendor “hangover.” Now, before we get too far into this post I need to clarify something: A wedding vendor hangover is NOT a result of drinking too much while on the job! It’s not even a result of drinking!! I have never and will never drink at a wedding that I am working!! OK… now that we are all on the same page, let’s chat about what a wedding vendor hangover really is! 

I looked at my calendar this week and realized that, as of this Saturday, I have officially called Washington, DC home for TWO years now! WOW time flies! Last year, I shared a letter to myself. I shared the words that I would have told the girl getting off the plane, fresh out of college with a dream and not a whole lot of plans. I reread this post this week, and I cried like a baby. It was a bit embarrassing… thankfully, I was alone in my apartment. Goodness… how so many things have changed and how so many things have stayed exactly the same.

I’m writing this post with shake-y fingers, butterflies in my stomach, and so much gratitude in my heart because….. CAIT KRAMER PHOTOGRAPHY IS FULL TIME, Y’ALL!
