Every now and then, I’m lucky enough to play the part of being a Cape May family photographer! With this title comes the privilege of capturing beautiful moments and preserving cherished memories for families. One such special session took place in June, when I had the pleasure of photographing a few generations of a family that means so much to me! (But more on that in a moment!) This family holds Cape May close to their hearts, as they have been visiting this picturesque seaside town for years. With the beach serving as the backdrop for their family portraits, we braved the heat and sand to capture some beautiful portraits of this crew together!
The session was extra special as I had previously photographed Alayna and Andrew’s wedding in 2020.
It was heartwarming to see their family grow with the addition of their sweet baby girl. I had also taken Alayna and Andrew’s engagement portraits in Cape May a few years prior so it truly felt like everything had come full circle! On the day of their session, we had high temps and LOTS of sun.
This crew was brave though so we set out to explore the shoreline of Cape May’s Cove beach. The entire family was in high spirits after enjoying a few days together on vacation, and their love and joy radiated through as they laughed and hugged their way through their session. Baby girl stole the show with her undeniable cuteness, and we had a blast capturing various combinations of the family together.
As a family photographer, my goal is to not only capture beautiful images but also to create lasting memories and preserve family legacies.
With such a special location to serve as our backdrop, I love that each photograph tells a story of the season that this crew is in right now. I am forever filled with gratitude for the opportunity to document such a beautiful and loving family throughout the years! This particular session was a celebration of their journey as a family, and I am honored to have played a small part in telling their story.
