Kait and Dan | An Elegant Winter Soirée at Hotel Du Pont in Wilmington, Delaware

I feel like I have been waiting for this day for such a long time… I met Kait and Dan for their engagement session at Longwood Gardens in January of 2018, and right away, I could tell that they were something so, so special. Kait is hilarious. She speaks her mind and loves others so well. Dan loves his plants, his pup Banana, and has such a kind and reassuring presence about him. They are the perfect balance for each other. Not only are Kait and Dan Penn Staters, but they also participated in Penn State’s THON while they were in school. In short, I knew they would be my kind of people from the moment they inquired!

This was all confirmed when I met Kait and Dan for their engagement session just under a year ago, and we spent the entire morning giggling, identifying plants around the greenhouses and getting way lost on Longwood’s expansive property. Immediately, I was counting down the days ’til their gorgeous winter day in Wilmington— I knew it would be a good one!

This past Saturday was a day filled with love and excitement. At one point, I asked Kait how she was feeling and she just shrugged, got a super giddy look on her face and said: “I get to see Dan soon, right?” Fortunately, we were about two minutes away from heading outside for their first look! Kait & Dan’s entire day was filled with so much excitement as their family and friends gathered to witness their union. You could tell that Kait and Dan put so much heart into putting together an elegant and classy evening for their guests. It was an absolutely perfect celebration!

From their helpful wedding party, to their fun reception vibe, gorgeous details, adorable first look, and every single moment in between, I know I am going to enjoy reliving this elegant wedding day for a long time!

Dan… you picked one STUNNING ring!   I’ve seen getting ready robes before, but never before have I seen getting ready ONESIES!!! (That are monogramed AND have pockets AND have hoods!) Can we make this more of a thing, y’all?! Kait’s mom and her sister, Meghan, helped fasten Kait into her dress! What a sweet memory! GIRL… you are STUNNING!  I will never ever get over how sweet dad and daughter first looks are!  If only you could have seen the way we set up for this shot! All of the bridesmaids were lined up in a conga line with their eyes closed, as I led them into the room to see Kait for the first time. We may have looked super silly in the moment, but it was WORTH IT, Y’ALL.Over to the guys now!  Guys… this may be one of my favorite first look reactions of all time. Just WAIT until you see Dan’s jaw drop!   These two are SO sweet!    Ok can we PLEASE talk about how amazing Kait’s bouquet is?!   LOVE a good veil toss!   Their day was SO joyful! Time to bring in the full crew! I LOVE the ombré bridesmaids dresses! SO gorgeous!  Now… onto the ceremony! I was SO impressed by Hotel Du Pont’s stunning interior!  Here she comes!!!   MARRIED!  Kait & Dan… y’all have great taste! This room was set to CELEBRATE!  Party time!  I am one lucky gal! Ok…. y’all I may or may not have saved the best for last! We spent ALL night tuning into the forecast to see if it was snowing outside. Right before my time at Kait and Dan’s wedding was over, we looked outside and SNOW! Kait LOVES the snow and was so hopeful all day long that we would be able to sneak outside for some romantic evening snow portraits. We may or may not have sprinted outside for these… Mission accomplished!  A special thank you to those that made their day so beautiful!
