These two are big rock climbers… in fact, the very first time that Meg and Nate met was at their climbing gym. They often arrived to the gym before their climbing partners, and in Meg’s words: “One day we got to talking, and we just never stopped… now he’s going to be my climbing partner […]

During this quieter, winter season… I’ve been blog prepping and dreaming big and considering helpful ways to improve my client’s experience! It has been AMAZING, but I’m also really looking forward to what is right around the corner… engagement session season and then wedding season!!! I always emphasize to my couples that wedding planning? It […]

Y’all will understand just how good my session was with Becky and Sam when I say that… that photo up there? It was one of the very FIRST frames I took during their session! It usually takes my couple and I a few minutes to find our rhythm, but right from the start, the magic […]

Ok… I am just GIDDY about sharing this session with you! The Jefferson Memorial is one of my absolute favorite places to photograph, and boy, it did NOT disappoint during Jessica and Stephen’s engagement session! Now… I think I need to preface this entire post by saying that I require all engagement sessions at memorials […]

A blog post… on a SUNDAY?! WELL… as some of you may know, my rebrand is launching SO soon! (JUST OVER ONE WEEK, Y’ALL!) I will be switching my blog off late Tuesday/early Wednesday as I put the finishing touches on the site! I had a busy weekend with a few sweet couples and so […]

They are two of the most down to earth people. They’re the kind of people that think about others first and that never ever stop laughing. Elizabeth is an artist (you have to see her stunning paintings!!!) and Mike is a comedian. They call NYC home with their sweet guinea pig, and let me tell you… they kept me smiling from ear to ear during their entire session! I’m so thankful… I get to see them in just about a MONTH for their winter wedding celebration in Fredericksburg! If their wedding is even HALF as fun as their engagement session was, I know that we are all in for a huge treat! The joy they share as a couple is truly admirable, and it is such a pleasure to have the opportunity to photograph them during this sweet season of their story.

Today’s post is so, so special to me. You see… Nicole was one of the very FIRST people that I met at Penn State, and now she is getting MARRIED! Nicole and I were in the same summer classes before school even started…. we learned how to study in the student union together, where to print our papers, we tried to navigate dorm life without AC (during the hottest months of the summer), tried fitness classes together, and even went to our first frat party together. She was one of my first friends during college, and the fact that I just photographed her ENGAGEMENT SESSION is really blowing my mind!

We started our Monday morning by stalking the weather… seriously. I was checking Accuweather, Dark Sky & Weather.com every 5 minutes, Kerri was too, and so was my roommate! Each forecast we found showed something completely different, but most showed that the rain wasn’t going to be an issue! We were so hopeful that we could make this sweet DC engagement session a reality because Kerri & Matt drove in all the way from Kennett Square, PA!! (What an honor!!!)

These cuties started my weekend off with SO many smiles! Emily and Matt were so flexible before their engagement session! They had to deal with a few location changes because, as we kept an eye on the forecast, it definitely looked it was going to downpour for their entire session. We knew we needed a location with stunning views with or without rain, so we decided on Union Station!

Ok… I definitely need to preface this post by saying that it was about a real feel of 101 degrees, and these two never complained once! We may have had insane humidity and tons of mosquitos swarming around our legs, but we also had some gorgeous light and nearly empty city parks (a rarity in DC!!). I am SO thankful for clients that trust their photographer, even when the situation being thrown at them is a little bit crazy! We got through the evening with cold water close on hand and a few breaks to cool down.
