When it comes to capturing the essence of love and romance, few local settings can rival the charm of Old Ellicott City! Lu and Sam, a truly sweet and remarkable couple, had their engagement session in this picturesque part of town back in October, and the results were simply stunning if I do say so myself! From the vibrant fall foliage to the historic buildings and alleys, every moment of their session was filled with joy and love! Join me as we all take a delightful journey through their engagement photos and get a glimpse into their incredible love story!
Lu and Sam’s story began in the digital realm of dating apps, specifically on Hinge.
At the time, Sam was pursuing his master’s degree, while Lu was immersed in the world of law school. After connecting and chatting on the app, they decided to meet for a date in Federal Hill, Baltimore. However, fate had other plans for them that night. The bustling bars were overflowing with people, making it impossible to find a quiet spot to truly get to know each other. Undeterred after three failed attempts to find a spot chill enough to get to know each other, they decided to retreat to Lu’s apartment, where they shared a bottle of wine and embarked on a journey that would change their lives forever.
As their relationship blossomed, Lu and Sam realized they were not only compatible but also inseparable. In July of 2022, they took a leap and moved in together, laying the foundation for their future as a couple. Their journey continued to unfold, and in February, they made an even bigger commitment by purchasing a house together.
Fast forward some time, and both Lu and Sam were dreaming of diamond rings and future plans!
When Sam had a work trip to Hawaii, Lu eagerly joined him, excited to explore the beautiful islands. While Sam was busy with work during the weekdays, the couple made the most of their weekends by embarking on hikes and immersing themselves in the natural wonders of Hawaii. Lu had hoped for the big moment to happen during a hike, but when it didn’t, she couldn’t help but feel a twinge of disappointment. Little did she know that the perfect moment was yet to come!
After a day of snorkeling, as the sun began its descent below the horizon, Lu and Sam found themselves on the beach. Soon, Sam dropped down on one knee and asked Lu to be his forever!
Sam adores Lu’s intelligence and wit, recognizing her as one of the most brilliant people he has ever met. But, it’s her compassionate nature that truly captivates him. Lu, on the other hand, is enamored by Sam’s patience, kindness, and understanding spirit. He has an innate ability to understand her on another level brings her immense comfort. Together, they form an unstoppable team, supporting each other through every challenge and celebrating every triumph.
Back in October, I had the joy of photographing Lu and Sam’s engagement session in Old Ellicott City!
Our time together began with intimate portraits amidst the breathtaking fall foliage on the outskirts of town. From there, we ventured into the heart of town, capturing so many pretty photos against the backdrop of historic buildings and charming alleys. The session culminated with iconic views of the Ellicott City bridge and some snuggly photos down on the riverbank! Shoutout to Lu for fearlessly scaling the riverbank in heels— I’m still not sure how she managed that!
The long story short of it? Our time together was absolutely incredible! As I eagerly count down the days to their October wedding at Belmont Manor, I hope you enjoy a scroll through their gorgeous engagement session!
