Kramer Family Portraits at the Beach | Stone Harbor Family Portrait Photographer

Today’s post brings me SO much joy! Earlier in the year, I realized that I have been using & reusing our family photo from over TWO years ago and knew that I wanted to change that over the summer when we were all together! I’m someone that preaches updating your portraiture often, if not yearly, so the fact that it had been THAT long since we took a professional photo together made me really sad!

I decided to gift my dad family portraiture for his birthday, and I think this may just become a brand new tradition! (Shhh… don’t tell my dad!) My brother, sister and I all live in different cities now and my parents live down in Houston! This was the first time since the holidays that we were all together at one time and will probably be the only time until Thanksgiving! (That’s just so crazy to think about!!) As an added bonus?! We’ve been visiting the beach as a family for so many years now, and it just makes the perfect backdrop for photos that are both beautiful and meaningful.

I won’t tell you how long it took for us to pick our outfits:

But spoiler alert… it took A LOT of trial and error!

Deciding on outfits pre-portraiture may have been a little stressful, but after the photos were done, I felt so happy to have them & couldn’t wait to get a few sneak peeks edited. Y’all… if you are considering getting professional portraits taken and are a little overwhelmed by it, aren’t sure if you want to make the investment, or may just not know where to get started, my encouragement to you is this: Don’t think about it… just do it! It is SO important to have good photos of your people. Take the time to document your life and the lives of the people that you love! There is nothing sweeter than having gorgeous photos of the people you love (and maybe you’ll make a few funny memories along the way!).

Now… let’s dive into our session!

The kids got to the beach first… followed shortly by my parents and my Grammy and Poppop. First up in front of the camera was my sister, Meghan, with her boyfriend, Sean!

LOOOVE these black and white’s! This one made me a little teary! I just love seeing my sis so happy!   A few quick solo shots for me! This girl loves a dress that twirls. A few updated headshots for Meg & Sean too! And some for Thomas too! I’ve been taking portraits of my grandparents like this for the last three years! After 61 years of marriage, it is so sweet to see how well these two love each other. One of my favorites! I just love these two! Time for a few photos of my parents! They don’t have too many photos together, and we’re trying hard to change that! Love these two! And now a quick break for some behind the scenes: And now back to your regularly scheduled program! Shoutout to Sean for being our family’s personal photographer!
