Savannah and Kyle | A One Year Anniversary Session

I cannot wait for today’s post, y’all! Celebrating these two, yesterday, today, and always. Just about one year ago, I was sipping on wine in my Kentucky Derby finest as Savannah and Kyle celebrated their marriage with all of their closest friends. If you haven’t met Savannah yet, you should know that she is one of my dearest friends from college, that we work together *almost* every weekend and that she pretty much knows how to keep my life together better than I do. These two have welcomed me into their home so many times this year… seriously.

I could go on and on about them and how amazing they are and how fun their wedding was just a year ago, but I really just think that what Savannah wrote in her blog post yesterday sums up these two up so much better than I could put into words. (PS See her blog post here!)

“Everyone told us that this first year would be rough and that marriage is hard. I spend every weekend listening to pastors, priests, reverends and officiants who tell couples that marriage is work and it’s a commitment that they will need to spend time fostering every single day. Be ready. Remember your vows. Remember this moment. Be dedicated to making compromises.”

Savannah and Kyle have been such an amazing example for what I hope to find for myself in the future. As a single gal in my early 20’s, I can’t tell you how great it is to see two incredibly smart, quick witted and dedicated individuals live life together. I look up to these two and am so thankful that they always have a warm bed for me to crash on long wedding weekends…. and the world’s softest guest bath towels.

A few months ago, we got together at peach and apple orchard to celebrate their first anniversary with some portraits. What a gift and an honor it is to be given the opportunity to capture such sweet memories for friends. Enjoy a few of my favorites below!
