Ok I need all y'all to know that today's post comes with ALL THE FEELS! I met Liz a number of years ago when we were both fitness instructors at Penn State. She was one of my mentors and originally taught me how to teach barre fitness! Fast forward a few years, and I got an email from her, saying that she was ENGAGED and wanted me to be her wedding photographer. Being asked to play a very small part in documenting someone's love story is always a huge honor, but when it is someone that you've known for years, it definitely hits you right in the feels! Having the opportunity to capture Liz & Tyler's day was the biggest honor and privilege, and I spent most of Saturday with tears in my eyes.
These two were so beyond excited all day long. They're high school sweethearts, so to say that this day was a longtime coming would be the biggest understatement! Liz & Tyler's day was filled with an energy that I can't quite explain. When two people and their families are so excited about the future, there is a certain buzz that is just so, so special. Each person I met had something so incredibly sweet to say about Liz and Tyler. They are two of the most genuine people and have the kindest hearts. And their love? That's the real deal. These two couldn't wait to become husband and wife.
We may have had on and off rain all day long (ok... it was more like on and off again torrential downpours with crazy thunder and lightening!!), but the radar cleared just in time for some GORGEOUS outdoor portraits. Thank goodness too! The Philadelphia Cricket Club's grounds are absolutely stunning! A huge thank you to Liz & Tyler and their wedding party for being so flexible and helpful all day long. With the rain, thunder and wind, it could have been a very stressful day but they made it such a joy!
Liz & Tyler's blush and navy wedding design was something out of my dreams. AHH I can't wait for y'all to catch a preview of this gorgeous day! As a related side note: I have to give a big shoutout to the staff at The Philadelphia Cricket Club! They made the day such a breeze and took such amazing care of Liz, Tyler, their families, guests and their vendor teams all day long. (Special hugs to Amy & Dia! Y'all are amazing!)
Now, for the pretty you have all been waiting for!!
Believe it or not, these girls were standing in the bathroom!! But... with wallpaper like this, how could you resist?!
Dad & Daughter first looks always give me ALL THE FEELS.
We were racing the radar to get to their first look.... and well, we may not have beat the rain, but it didn't even matter! These two were SO excited to see each other on their wedding day that the rain, thunder and wind didn't bother them one bit!!
Everyone meet Finn! Liz & Tyler have the sweetest, most well behaved teddy bear of a dog. He came along to be the ring bearer, and pretty much stole the show!
I had my fingers crossed all day long that the sky would clear and that we would have just a few minutes for portraits... and IT HAPPENED! I still can't get over how gorgeous this property is! These two were SO flexible and let me sneak them away for a few minutes of romantic portraits in the SUN! I think it is safe to say that it was 100% worth it.
The rain cleared, just in time, for some outdoor bridal party portraits!
The most beautiful reception hall I ever did see!
Like I said, I've known Liz since my PSU Fitness days! Of course an alumni instructor photo was on the shot list! So great to see these girls!
A special thank you to the team that made Liz & Tyler's day so beautiful:
