Engagement Session at Terrapin Nature Park | Olivia and Matt

I met up with Olivia and Matt last fall just as the weather was starting to cool down. They wanted beachy vibes without the sweat, and we totally nailed it! These two are just the kindest humans, and even though their engagement session was well over a year ago, I can still remember how much we laughed the entire time.

One of the things I love most about Olivia and Matt is the way they communicate with just a glance. It’s one of those soft, quiet moments between the two of them that shows how completely in love they are—but it never makes anyone around them feel left out. You can just feel their exchange of love.

We had a bit of a wild ride with the weather leading up to their session— tons of rain in September (2024), leading us to a few reschedules. We moved around a few times, unsure if the session would even happen in early October. But we took the risk, and thank goodness we did! The clouds softened the light, cooled down the temps, and created the most gorgeous coastal glow. I loved that they balanced a more formal outfit with something casual and beachy—it gave the session such variety and personality.

Olivia and Matt met at UMD College Park and have been together since their junior year—so over seven years of adventures by the time we did this session!

They love the outdoors, traveling, and hiking, and they share a home with a cat and a tortoise (yes, a tortoise that rescued it from Olivia’s old classroom… I’m obsessed). For their proposal, Matt took Olivia to a quiet beach on the bay—so it felt perfect to do their engagement session somewhere with the same coastal vibes.

Their engagement session at Terrapin Nature Park in Stevensville, Maryland was nothing short of magical.

Sandy beaches, walking trails, boardwalks, tall grasses, and wooded areas all in one location gave us endless options for photos that felt natural and romantic yet whimsical and relaxed. For Olivia and Matt, the mix of golden evening light, gentle clouds, and coastal scenery made every shot feel effortless and joyful!

From soft glances to big laughs, epic spins, and the sweetest snuggles, Olivia and Matt’s engagement session at Terrapin Nature Park perfectly captures the love and happiness they share. I can’t wait for you to dive into their photos!
