I'm Caity, and this blog is my very favorite spot on the Internet! I'm a wedding photographer based in Washington, D.C. with a heart for serving others through my creative work. Tune in for the latest and greatest in my world!
Today’s post is so, so special to me. You see… Nicole was one of the very FIRST people that I met at Penn State, and now she is getting MARRIED! Nicole and I were in the same summer classes before school even started…. we learned how to study in the student union together, where to print our papers, we tried to navigate dorm life without AC (during the hottest months of the summer), tried fitness classes together, and even went to our first frat party together. She was one of my first friends during college, and the fact that I just photographed her ENGAGEMENT SESSION is really blowing my mind!
Bridget and Peter are just one of a kind. They’re funny, and they’re amazingly kind, and they are so incredibly thoughtful. From the moment Savannah and I arrived in the morning to the moment we gave them hugs on the dance floor at the end of the night, Bridget and Peter were constantly offering ways to make our lives easier… let me remind you that THEY were the ones getting married! You see… they are just the kind of people that truly care about those in their lives, and this was so evident on their wedding day. They love so well and are loved so well by so many. It is because of that very reason that I know they are perfect for each other.
Attending the Katelyn James Workshop has been a huge dream and huge goal of mine for a long time, and the fact that it happened still doesn’t even feel one bit real. I can’t even remember the first time I found Katelyn’s work (she’s just kind of always been there!), but I know it was definitely when I was still in high school! Crazy, I know!! I’ve followed and learned from KJ for longer than I can even remember, have watched their family walk through seasons of celebration and grief, grew attached to her daughter and nephew through Instagram Stories, and let me tell you, sitting down to learn from her in her living room really felt surreal.
Today’s post is so, so special to me! Rachel is someone that I met through Rising Tide Society’s Tuesday’s Together/Instagram when I first moved to DC, and we really seemed to hit it off! She’s one of those people that somehow always knows how to make someone feel welcome. Her work is just stunning, and she has the kindest personality that I know makes her clients feel the same way that I do— so incredibly loved!
Today, I wanted to dive into a question that I get asked a lot— by both clients AND friends: What size would you recommend for my wedding party?! PHEW… this is a little bit of a loaded question because what is right for you may not be what is right for me or for someone else!! But, when it comes to it, if you’re asking, I’ll answer honestly: keep your wedding party on the smaller side.
I knew Katie & Charlie’s day was going to be pure magic the very moment I met them. These two are something beyond special. They’re funny, they’re caring, and they for sure know how to look absolutely amazing in front of the camera… Katie took the time to incorporate so many sweet, personal touches throughout their wedding day. From the bouquets of dried lavender that Katie tied herself… to sweet white pumpkins grown in Katie & her family’s gardens that were incorporated into reception center pieces… to sweet family heirlooms that Katie wore along with her bridal look, the time they’ve spent making memories at their venue leading up to their wedding day, and their ceremony that was officiated by Katie’s brother— their day was something so, so special. I cannot wait for you to get a peek into their wedding day at Chateau Bu De!!
Happy Friday!!! I thought about breaking up this post into a few, but I’m just SO excited to share #ALLTHETHINGS with you all at once… so that’s what we’re doing. Just a quick PSA: this post is LONG. But, if you like Charleston, are planning a trip to Charleston or are just curious about what we did while we were there on a bachelorette, I think you’ll love this post!
If you haven’t heard, the brand new Cait Kramer Photography Senior Experience launched just ONE WEEK AGO!! (To celebrate I’m giving away one FULL senior experience to a lucky Class of 2019 senior!! If you haven’t entered yet and want to learn more, get on it by clicking here!). I am so excited to re-introduce seniors into the Cait Kramer brand because, after all, I did get my start in photography by working with my classmates when I was in high school!!
We started our Monday morning by stalking the weather… seriously. I was checking Accuweather, Dark Sky & Weather.com every 5 minutes, Kerri was too, and so was my roommate! Each forecast we found showed something completely different, but most showed that the rain wasn’t going to be an issue! We were so hopeful that we could make this sweet DC engagement session a reality because Kerri & Matt drove in all the way from Kennett Square, PA!! (What an honor!!!)
