IT’S TIME IT’S TIME! I’ve been SO excited to share these cuties with you, and it’s finally TIME! (Turns out a road trip down the coast for the holidays the weekend right after a double header isn’t great for self-imposed deadlines… but we made it through, and I’m SO excited to introduce you to these gorgeous newlyweds.)
Everything about Melissa and Tyler’s celebration just made sense. These two prioritized joy, intention, and what felt right for them, and the result was a day that unfolded with so much ease, beauty, and love. And because I know many couples dream of a wedding at the Baltimore Museum of Industry, I’m thrilled to be sharing their stunning BMI wedding story today — it was the most gorgeous reminder of how meaningful a celebration can be when it’s deeply personal.
And, to be totally honest? It was the perfect way to wrap up my 2025 wedding season!
I still can’t believe how lucky I am to have ended such an amazing year with these two. One of my favorite parts of their Baltimore Museum of Industry wedding was the intentional way Melissa and Tyler honored the people closest to them. They kept their wedding party small and intimate, yet made space for their community in so many meaningful ways. Their families were woven into every moment through heirlooms and cultural pieces and intentional moments. Melissa’s cousin officiated their ceremony… their moms shared heartfelt readings… their dads opened the reception with a blessing and welcome toast. Their best man and maid of honor stood by their sides and shared beautiful words during their dinner, and their beloved pup proudly served as their flower girl. Every detail felt beautifully personal… beautifully them.
And maybe my favorite little thing? Melissa laughs with her whole heart — the kind of laugh makes everyone in a room smile — and Tyler brings it out of her so effortlessly. Watching the two of them together all day long was pure joy. I just loved seeing how happy these two are when they are together.
Their day began close to home — literally just around the corner from my house (hello, dream commute!) — and when I stepped into Melissa’s bridal suite, I was greeted with the most wonderful energy.
It was that just-right blend of excitement and peace… the kind of atmosphere that makes you breathe a little lighter because you know the day is already off to the best possible start. Hair and makeup was in full swing, so I got to work styling their stationery, rings, florals, and all the thoughtful little pieces that told the story of their day. Soon, it was time to get dressed! You could feel the nerves building, but Melissa and Tyler had a first look planned — and the peace knowing they would soon be together carried them right any anxieties. Before heading to the Baltimore Museum of Industry, Melissa shared an emotional first look with her dad outside the hotel, and then we were off to the harbor.
November had officially decided she wanted to lean into winter — it was chilly, cloudy, and breezy in the kind of way that makes you snag a coat, just in case… but somehow still mild enough for outdoor portraits with a few strategic warm-up breaks. These two shared their first look on the Baltimore Harbor with big smiles, a few happy tears, and the sweetest personal vows to follow. Any nerves from before melted instantly and turned straight into joy.
We wandered the waterfront for portraits — and honestly? I didn’t hate the overcast skies one bit… in fact… it was the perfect addition to an already stunning day! The cloudy light made the skyline pop like an absolute dream. Soon their families and wedding party joined us, and the fun kicked up even more. Melissa and Tyler are the kind of people who make you feel at ease instantly, and their family and friends are exactly the same. The energy was warm and playful and full of excitement from start to finish.
After heading inside for a moment to warm up, Melissa slipped on her veil— delicately embellished with pieces of her mom’s wedding dress.
And just when we thought the sky was going to stay grey all day… it decided to surprise us. The clouds opened just enough to bring THE most stunning shades of pink and purple overhead. Melissa is a big Swiftie, so it felt like the most magical little nod to the Lover era… just the universe’s way of saying HECK YES LET’S GET THESE TWO HITCHED! It was the kind of sunset you dream of having for your Baltimore Museum of Industry wedding photos— pure magic!
Their pup arrived right on time for a few pre-ceremony portraits (including many, many excited ear scratches), and then… it was officially time to get these two married!
As the sun dipped fully behind the skyline, guests arrived for their post-sunset ceremony. One of the coolest things about having a BMI wedding is the flexibility the venue offers — and Melissa and Tyler used the space perfectly. While their loved ones gathered in the indoor ceremony space overlooking the night-time harbor, they relaxed in a media room tucked back away from the hustle and hugs of guest arrival. Once everyone was seated, the ceremony kicked off with Maia sniffing down the aisle and happy tears from Tyler as his bride made her way to him, escorted by both her mom and dad. The ceremony itself, officiated by Melissa’s cousin, felt intimate, heartfelt, and deeply personal. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room when they sealed it all with a kiss!
From there, cocktail hour began up among a few of the museum exhibits, and the main hall began its transformation into reception magic.
Cocktail hour kicked off as the printing press fired up and the custom print Melissa and Tyler designed was passed along to guests… such a fun and unique touch! Their signature drinks flowed, guests explored the museum, and the reception space took shape behind the scenes.
The room was stunning — pops of pink and burgundy woven through their florals (a perfect late-fall palette), sweet framed photos of their pup on each table, and place cards lovingly hand-folded by Melissa herself. Surrounded by museum artifacts — the original O from the Domino Sugar sign, vintage vehicles, neon lights, even a full airplane — the space felt unique, vibrant, and so reflective of who they are.
Their BMI reception kicked off with an electric entrance straight into a sweet first dance surrounded by their favorite people on the dance floor.
Heartfelt toasts and a delicious dinner followed… and then the real party started. Melissa changed into a stunning red bridal qipao — the most beautiful nod to her heritage — and the dance floor came alive. I’m not exaggerating when I say the energy was unreal. Their friends and family showed up ready to celebrate, and it was the perfect cherry on top of an already unforgettable Baltimore Museum of Industry wedding.
Somehow, we’ve arrived at the last CKP wedding of the year… and I couldn’t have imagined a sweeter, more joyful couple to close out the season with. Melissa and Tyler, you two are pure warmth and love, and photographing your day was the greatest honor.
I hope you had a blast celebrating your nuptials in Italy! I’m so excited for you to scroll through your beautiful, joy-filled celebration.
Congratulations, cuties. What a perfect start to forever!
