Audrey and Connor | Hayfields Country Club Wedding Day

Audrey and Connor’s Hayfields Country Club wedding day was simply the best… and no, I’m not just saying that because they danced the most perfect first dance to a James Bay cover of the iconic Tina Turner song! From the moment I arrived, I knew this day was going to be something special.

Thoughtful, joyful, laid-back, and absolutely full of heart—this celebration felt like one big, warm hug.

Let me tell you a little about Audrey and Connor: they are just cool. There’s no way around it. They’re the kind of people you meet and are instantly pulled into their orbit—not only because they’re kind, genuine, and thoughtful, but because they’re truly magnetic. They share a love that’s playful and rooted, deep yet carefree, and their wedding day was such a reflection of all of those things.

The day began with calm energy and easy laughter. Audrey and her crew were relaxing in matching pajamas as hair and makeup wrapped up. She handed over her beautifully curated details—a stunning mix of Baltimore-inspired stationery, heirloom rings, lush florals, and pearly heels— before slipping into her classic wedding gown with the help of her sweet mama. After a fun first look with her wedding party, she made her way out to the back patio to see Connor. Their first look was full of joy, twirls, and the kind of hugs that make you say: “yeah… this is the kind of love that is so rare to find.”

Before every wedding day, I work with my couples to make sure they’re set up for success—to feel relaxed, fully present, and free to enjoy their day.

Audrey and Connor made it clear from the start that this was their top priority. We crafted a timeline that gave them space to breathe and connect, and once they were together, it was like a switch flipped. They were chill before seeing each other, but after, they were calm, grounded, and fully in the moment.

We explored the grounds for portraits, and truly—these two could have a side hustle as models. Their energy together is effortless, and it made for the perfect blend of editorial and joyful portraits! We met up with their family and wedding party soon after. The group was dressed in sleek black with white florals for a classic, monochromatic look, and I especially loved how Audrey’s bridesmaids chose different dress styles that suited their personalities while keeping things elevated and cohesive.

As we moved into the ceremony, Audrey and Connor had one of the sweetest surprises planned!

In true A+C fashion, they added an interactive twist to include their guests in a meaningful way. They hid their wedding rings under two chairs and surprised the guests seated there with the honor of being their ring bearers! One of the rings proved to be a little tricky to find, but it only added to the moment— guests were laughing, crawling, and cheering, and it was such a fun and heartfelt way to kick things off. They exchanged vows, shared a kiss, and Connor swept Audrey into the most epic dip before they cheered their way back down the aisle as husband and wife!

Because they shared a first look and completed most portraits early in the day, Audrey and Connor were able to be fully present for all of cocktail hour. But first— a private moment in the bridal suite where they exchanged personal vows. I’ve never seen this done before (And honestly didn’t witness it this time— they just let me know that it would be happening and wanted complete privacy!), and I absolutely loved it. It was such a sweet, intimate, and intentional way to take in the weight of the day together.

Guests were welcomed to cocktail hour with ice-cold drinks and plenty of mingling under the summer sun. Audrey was particularly excited about their seating chart that also served as a way to welcome guests to cocktail hour with an ice cold High Noon or glass of champagne. Truly, these two couldn’t be more thoughtful!

One of the amazing things about a Hayfields Country Club wedding day is that their property offers so much versatility in their hosting space within such a convenient area for guests!

From the garden-lined patio where Audrey and Connor said “I do,” to the seamless flow into cocktail hour on the lawn, through the welcoming lobby and into a ballroom perfectly suited for both an intimate dinner and a high-energy dance floor—the layout at Hayfields just works. It’s easy, intuitive, and made for celebration.

As the sun dipped lower, the party moved indoors for an elegant and heartfelt reception. Each guest was greeted at their seat with a handwritten note from Audrey and Connor—just another example of the care they poured into every detail.

Introductions kicked off the reception with so much energy, and A+C entered straight into their first dance.

Toasts followed, including a surprise icing from Audrey’s MOH, and soon after, the dance floor opened with parent dances and the sweetest slow song. We snuck away for a few golden hour portraits (just wait until you see the light!!) before returning to a dance floor that was already bumpin’.

And when I say their dance floor had it all—I mean it. Epic moves, the limbo, conga lines, sunglasses, kisses, dips, butt grabs… nothing was off the table. I even stayed 30 minutes later than planned because no part of me wanted to leave the fun! Huge shoutout to Jake and the entire team at Washington Talent who kept the party going strong all night long.
