September 8, 2021

Where should you have your engagement photos taken in MD?! I’m so glad you asked!

I’ve been in Baltimore for about a year now, and this post has been in my drafts folder for just about as long! I had big dreams to visit each and every one of these places on this list with my camera to include photos of all these dreamy locations, but then life got busy, and I realized that it would be a whole lot more fun if we could do some exploring together! After all, exploring with friends is a whole lot more fun! While I’ve visited some of these locations, I haven’t had a chance to get to all! I’ve visited many though, and I’m confident ALL would make an incredible location for engagement photos!

All of these spots are high, high, high on my must-shoot-an-engagement-session-here list, so today, I wanted to share what they are in hopes to get you inspired, just in case you were still looking for the perfect spot for your engagement session! Care to enjoy one of these spots together? I think that sounds like fun!

So… let’s do it! What are some of the BEST spots for an engagement session in southern Maryland? I’m so glad you asked!

Hampton Mansion

This is the location in the header image— talk about gorgeous! This is quite literally a gorgeous pinky-peach mansion with beautiful views all around… Need I say more?!

Fells Point Waterfront

One of my current favorite walks and photo locations! I would love to photograph your engagement session on the water! Gorgeous at sunrise or sunset… the cobblestones, charming streets, and waterfront views?! Let’s do it!

Patterson Park

Couldn’t pass without a Baltimore classic! This park has so many incredible spots! I can’t even begin to list them all… from the pagoda to the pond, and all of the green paths, there are so many different options here! As a bonus, finish across the street at Bmore Licks with some ice cream and cute murals!

Federal Hill

There is nothing like the view in Fed Hill… it’s a great spot to finish off a local, sunset session! My sister had her engagement photos taken here, and it was absolutely stunning! The water and skyline views are like no other! In addition, you are super close to cute homes in town or waterfront dock views, just across the street!

Mt. Vernon Place

This adorable corner of the city has so much to offer! Pink dogwoods in the spring, cute plazas + gorgeous architecture too… it feels like a corner out of New York! There are lots of great spots here, right in the heart of Baltimore!

Old Ellicott City

This charming city has been on my list for a long time! There are SO many cute street corners and views— perfect for a couple looking for more of a location where small-town meets urban!

Rawlings Conservatory & Botanic Gardens

I’m pretty much obsessed with this spot… I mean, can you blame me?! This greenhouse looks like it is something straight out of a fairytale or old, charming European storybook! There is a permit and reservation requirement, so keep that in mind while planning. Click here for a link to their photo policy at the time of posting!

Sherwood Gardens

Such a gorgeous garden featuring a beautiful manor home! There are many different bloom seasons here in the spring, but honestly, their spring tulips really caught my eye!

Cylburn Arboretum

Gardens, mansion, and so much gorgeous space for photos! I’m dying to get over to Cylburn! They do have a photo policy/permit which can be found here. All permits must be processed 21 days in advance, so plan ahead!

Historic Jerusalem Mill Village

If you’re looking for beautiful stonework or rolling hills, you can’t go wrong with Historic Jerusalem Mill Village! I just love how relaxed this spot feels! I got to visit this spot with a sweet couple a few years ago, and oh my goodness… the VIEWS!

This historic spot looks like something straight out of a European fairytale! I’m obsessed with their gorgeous, stucco facades and the greenery accenting their porch. Just gorgeous!
