Alison and Dan | A Sunset Engagement Session at Longwood Gardens

I’ve had this session burning a hole in my pocket for a while now… I may have gotten a little behind on blogging, but who says that’s a bad thing? I’m LIVING for diving back into delivered galleries, picking the best images to share here on the blog! It is like Christmas morning, every time I go to put together a post! Back in May, I got to meet up with these cuties at one of my favorite places to shoot and a place that means so much to Alison and her family: Longwood Gardens!

Alison’s parents live right near Longwood and visit the gardens often— she’s visited the gardens countless times too! She knew this would be the perfect place for her and Dan’s engagement session, and she was so right. It was beyond incredible to have a local tour guide that knew all of the most amazing spots and the quickest route to the next view. We met on a Friday during the Festival of Fountains, so I was a little nervous going in! How crowded would it be?! Would we be able to capture all of the amazing views without lawn chairs and humans in the background?! Fortunately, everything worked out, we had the BEST glow, and even got to visit the Conservatory (AKA the gorgeous and huge greenhouse with about every plant species you could ever dream of!). I loved touring the gardens with them, finding the best light, and identifying our favorite plants and flowers along the way.

These two are incredibly kind, caring, and are the kind of couple that are just easy to be around. Alison and Dan make you feel comfortable and are so very thoughtful. They both went to Penn State (We are!) and became friends through their major. Dan went on to grad school at Pitt while Alison moved back to Philly. They started dating long distance at the beginning of 2016. Fast forward to the start of quarantine, and they were actually able to move in with each other earlier than planned, much to their excitement! Fast forward, and Dan proposed in one of the many historical parks in Philly, as they took a long walk to dinner at their favorite wine bar. Dan says he loves Alison’s ability to light a room and how she always has his back. Alison loves his pun-filled sene of humor and the kindness that he shows to her and to all.

We had such an amazing time touring Longwood together! I cannot WAIT to celebrate with these two THIS September!

Wisteria season… a DREAM!  How gorgeous is Alison’s ring?! That GLOW!  One of my faves!  We weren’t sure if we would be able to get into the Conservatory, and with the change in COVID restrictions that happened just the day before, we were able to explore SO many great spots!
