Penn State Class of 2018: Graduation Season Recap

Edit: I’m so glad we’ve connected— Congrats on your graduation! I’m no longer local to State College. I occasionally offer Penn State grad sessions (be sure to follow me on social for the most up to date information!) and require all Penn State grad sessions to be reserved at least 4 weeks in advance. Thanks!

Friends, I am SO excited to share today’s weekend recap post with you, and I am not going to lie, it is giving me ALL the feels. This year marks the sixth year that I had the opportunity to work with Penn State Seniors, and I just can’t even believe how FAST time flies! (I graduated from Penn State almost TWO years ago… what in the world?!) I truly felt like I was going home this past weekend, and I am so grateful for the time that I got to spend with each of these amazing people. I caught up with old friends, visited my favorite bar and edited images in my favorite outside corner of campus where I used to spend SO much time getting work done. Let me tell you… in this crazy season of change and transition, it felt SO good to go back to something familiar. We finally had some spring weather on Saturday, and in typical State College fashion, the next morning was numbingly cold and gloomy. Luckily, my Sunday morning crew was still excited and ready to go and the rain held off until later that evening! PRAISE!

It is always such an honor to work with grads that are on to do some pretty amazing things–from working on an archeological digs for mammoths (Anyone else with me that this might just be the COOLEST thing ever?!), to law school, grad school, big moves across the country, and even graduating a full YEAR early, I think I pretty much got to work with all of the most amazing people that are graduating from Penn State this year. I got to take graduation photos for my sweet gal I shared a room with when I studied abroad in Florence (That was a FRESHMAN at the time–HI Morgan, thanks for making me feel crazy old!) and for a sweet gal that I have a 500+ day Snapchat streak with because we just have to send each other that many selfies to stay current with what’s happening in the other’s life. I am so incredibly honored to have played a small part in capturing their Penn State story and I can’t tell you enough… it truly fills my heart up with SO much joy (even though I feel like the world’s biggest grandma!).

Y’all, I can’t wait for you to get to scrolling through a few sneaks of this crew as I get to work on their full galleries! I had SO much fun during my Penn State senior weekend and would also just like to give this crew a quick shoutout because 100% of them steamed their gowns! It sounds like such a small thing, but it really does make a HUGE difference! It’s safe to say that I was happy dancing my way down College Ave all weekend long.

Congratulations, Penn State Class of 2018! The best is yet to come.
