Megan’s Charleston Bachelorette Recap | Friday Chatter

Happy Friday!!! I thought about breaking up this post into a few, but I’m just SO excited to share #ALLTHETHINGS with you all at once… so that’s what we’re doing. Just a quick PSA: this post is LONG. But, if you like Charleston, are planning a trip to Charleston or are just curious about what we did while we were there on a bachelorette, I think you’ll love this post!

This past weekend, I flew down to Charleston, SC to celebrate my sweet friend Megan and her upcoming MARRIAGE! I could write an entire post on how much she means to me, but I know this one will already be pretty lengthly! Megan is my my sister’s best friend (who is named Meghan too!!) and was pretty much my second big sister growing up. I will be a bridesmaid in her wedding in April, and I cannot tell you how much that means to me! My sister is the MOH and planned the bachelorette down to the second. She did such an amazing job planning and we had an absolute blast. From start to finish, we were busy having fun and covered SO much ground.

Soo… let’s begin!!

Friends… if you don’t have the Southwest credit card, I’m here to let you know that it is amazing. I’m very much team debit card, but my sister convinced me to try the Southwest credit card to start building some credit while earning flight points at the same time. I thought she was totally joking when she said that it was amazing, but I got my round trip flight to Charleston for FREE. Yes… FOR. FREE. All I had to pay for was processing which was a whopping $11 and change. I flew straight from BWI to Charleston. I did pay for Amtrak tickets to the station at BWI, but it was much cheaper than paying for parking OR paying for round trip tickets out of somewhere like DCA or IAD.

Megan, Meghan, my mom & Megan’s mom were already there when I arrived Friday morning, so I met them out on the town in a few boutiques. We toured the city, visited a few shops and picked up their candles that they made at Candlefish the night before! (PS if you are looking for a fun small-group activity, they had so much fun at Candlefish on Thursday night!!)

We stopped for lunch at 82 Queen, and not only was it the cutest place ever (I’ll take 7 of those butterfly chairs for my apartment, please & thank you), but the portobello mushroom dish was unreal amazing!

Still not over all the cute little palmettos around town.

We stopped at Millers for a quick afternoon pick-me-up and we all instantly fell in love with how adorable this shop is! Seriously… every single corner of Millers was Insta-worthy.

On to my one of favorite places in town— Rainbow Row!!

A trip to Charleston isn’t complete without a visit to the Pineapple fountain!!

After touring town, we sent our bride to get a massage at the spa at the Belmond and we headed to Costco to stock the house! We bought all the food and drinks, gathered our bags and set to find our Airbnb!

If you are interested in knowing more about where stayed, let me know! The house was huge and had accommodations for 8 on the top floor and 8 on the bottom floor— we rented both spaces. We didn’t love the location of the house though which is the only reason I am not linking to it 🙂 If you want the details though, I would be happy to send them to you!!

On to the bachelorette celebrations! We had a fun night of sipping on wine, eating cake, and nibbling on tacos before we headed out to Stars Rooftop for some drinks!

On to Saturday!!! We started the day with brunch at S.N.O.B. and a walk through the streets!

After brunch, we got ready for the beach! We went to Sullivan’s Island and had a great time relaxing for a few hours… I may or may not have fell sound asleep for a good 15 minutes. It was such a gorgeous beach with plenty of space for a big group.

Team Bride!!!

The rest of Saturday was spent prepping for a fun dinner at 39 Rue de Jean and a night out on the town! I got the coq au vin, and I don’t think I have ever had a more delicious piece of chicken in my life. 10/10 recommend this place for a nice dinner! We finished the night with drinks at The Cocktail Club and Uptown Social.

I don’t have many photos from Sunday because well… we went on a sangria boat tour and sangria + water + a rocking boat + a camera didn’t really seem too smart to me. We started the day with brunch at the house and then headed to the Mt. Pleasant for our boat cruise on the Palmetto Breeze! It was a blast & they even let 0ur group take over the aux cord— perks of being with the bride to be! We stopped for Frosé and light eats at Red’s Ice House before heading back to our Airbnb for a nap and a night in playing games! We were all thankful for a relaxing night! Here are a few cell grabs from our cruise!

Monday!!! Our last day in town before our flights took us back to reality! We started the day with breakfast at the house followed by packing and an Uber ride to Boone Hall Plantation. This is one of those places that I have always wanted to visit! I love looking at weddings photographed here and am literally in LOVE with the Avenue of Oaks. To have a chance to visit was a dream come true! The staff was also super sweet and let us store our millions of bags in the visitor’s center.

We started our afternoon at Boone Hall with a trip to their butterfly pavilion!

This property is absolutely beautiful…

Headshots because Ryan Reynolds & Blake Lively were married here!

Headshots under the oaks because… duh!

It was so much fun to tour the farm property from the comfort of a shady seat!

Have I ever mentioned that I am beyond obsessed with live oaks and Spanish moss?!

Think anyone would notice if I moved in?! If you have a chance, DO take the house tour! You need to make a reservation once you are on the plantation, but it was so neat to see inside this home

Thankful for this crew! We had so much fun!

If you made it this far in the post, I think you deserve to book yourself a trip to Charleston 😉Thanks for tuning in!! Anyone want to go back with me?!
