There are Annapolis weddings, and then there are Annapolis weddings. The kind where the bay is right there, the oysters are literally part of the decor, and the sky decides to put on a show that absolutely everyone had hoped for but didn’t expect to be so stunning. Steph and Sean’s Annapolis Maritime Museum wedding day was that. All of that.
The day started with popping champagne and toasting on the waterfront in matching PJs, of course. Steph and her crew were SO much fun. The way they laughed all day long really made the day so sweet!
Soon, it was time to get Steph into her gown.
With her mom and sister right there beside her, she stepped in and somehow became even more herself. Already one of the most joyful people I’ve ever met, she was literally glowing from the inside out. There is no other way to say it. Her dad got a first look before anyone else, and watching that moment happen was one of those things I will hold onto. Then it was out to the pier for Steph and Sean’s first look!
A few sweet hugs. Some thoughtful promises. And then we were off to the races!
Portraits on the water, wedding party in the sunshine, family photos to follow.
Before we knew it, guests were arriving at the Maritime Museum and finding their way to their seats for the ceremony. One of my favorite moments of the whole day: the way everyone in that room showed up for Steph and Sean as they came down the aisle. Cheers. Applause. Full-on hootin’ and hollerin’. Their people gave them the kind of entrance that makes you feel it in your whole chest. They exchanged vows and kissed their way back down the aisle, officially husband and wife, with their people going absolutely wild for them yet again!
Cocktail hour spilled from the museum onto the lawn with waterfront views that just didn’t quit.
Guests grabbed drinks from the bar Sean built by hand to match their linens. (Yes… literally… by. HAND.) Sipped them with the bay stretching out in front of them. It was so completely them, down to the last detail.
Their reception kicked off with some sweet dances, toasts, and LOTS of hype from their people.
Now here’s where I derail for a moment before bringing us back, promise. Remember Trix yogurt from the early 2000s? The swirled, saturated, unreal color situation? That’s the only way to describe what happened in the sky. The sunset changed minute by minute and only got more outrageous. Steph and Sean dipped and twirled their way right right through it before heading inside to dance the night away.
The day felt so perfectly them from start to finish. Bayfront, joyful, relaxed, and spent with their favorite people. I’m so excited for you to scroll through the recap!
