Meg and Sean’s Wedding Week Recap | Personal Post

I’ll say it up top! The blog post you REALLY want to scroll through is from Savannah and is linked here! She was my sister’s wedding photographer and, if you’ve spent any amount of time around here, you know she’s also a friend of mine and my family! When I say she knocked it out of the park, I’m not joking! Girlfriend handled the day with grace and ease, keeping us right on timeline and also created absolutely stunning images. It was reassuring to have someone I know along to take care of my sis, her now-husband, and our families! Her sneak peeks made me cry, and her blog post has me in an absolute puddle. I couldn’t think of a better person to have photographed the day!

Now… I blog every wedding I photograph the Tuesday after it happens (unless I have a double-header weekend!), so it only seems fitting that I blog the Tuesday after my sisters, though this one will be done in a different way! I got to leave my camera at home for this wedding and instead compiled all of our cell photos in one spot! They’re less than perfect, some are blurry, but they are some of the sweetest moments to look back on, and I want them all in one place while things are fresh in my mind! I took a few of these photos, but many came from family, friends, and gals in the wedding party! We had a collaborative iCloud album for all of Meg’s big wedding events (Like the shower and the bach!), and if I have one piece of advice when it comes to cell photos it’s to create a collaborative/shared album with your wedding party! It has been so much fun to see all of the photos we took all weekend in one spot.

I’ve tried to come up with a solid intro for this post for a while, but words are failing me. Maybe I’m still a little sleepy or maybe there just are no words… It feels so surreal that Meg’s wedding weekend has come and gone. It almost feel like we were all walking through a dream all weekend long. The day-of went SO well and went so fast! One moment, we were in hair and makeup, and then all of a sudden, we were lined up and ready to walk down the aisle! The weather and rain held it together for portraits and the ceremony, the florals and decor were beyond, and it was so much fun to have our families in one place. It’s been a long time since we were all able to be together, and it truly was so incredible to have everyone in one place.

It’s funny… I’ve been to more weddings than I can count as a vendor and have photographed so many of the moments I got to be part of with my sister before Friday. That said, nothing could have prepared me for how it would feel to be on the other side!! I was overwhelmed by how special it was to see her as the person stepping into her dress, walking down the aisle, dancing with our dad… I know just how hard she worked for this day, how long she’s been dreaming of her wedding day, and how excited she was to marry the man of her dreams. If I think too hard about it all, I’ll definitely burst into tears again. In short, I don’t know that we could have a better weekend. The people we got to spend it really made it that much more special, and I’m just so so overwhelmed with gratitude that we were all able to celebrate together.

I’ve compiled all my favorite cell snaps from the weekend in one spot to scroll through on a rainy day when I’m missing wedding weekend, but before we get to the fun, I wanted to share a huge thank you with an amazing team of hard working people!

A huge thank you to Meg and Sean’s rockstar vendor team! If you are in MD or Baltimore, I highly recommend each of these amazing people:

We started the kickoff of the craziness with a class at OTF on Wednesday! Shoutout to everyone at work for making it so much fun and so special! We did a few last-minute crafts, including finalizing their seating chart!  Picture on the left was everyting we moved into Meg and Sean’s suite! You could say over-packing runs in the family! Right is the first of many elevator reflection photos from the weekend!  Time to rehearse! Meg and Sean’s suite got upgraded (Thanks, Four Seasons!) and the view was UNREAL! We hopped on a private water taxi to head around and then across the harbor for rehearsal dinner! Dinner was at Little Havana! (Their sweet potato fries and garlic aioli hit the spot!) We shared a few toasts, some apps, eats, and s’mores! Up, bright and early to head to hair and makeup!  My mom’s going to kill me for posting this one on the left, so I’ll balance it out by posting the one of me on the right! Meg and Sean gave their moms the sweetest matching bracelets. When my mom opened hers and cried, that’s when I started crying which prompted Megan, and Alyssa to burst into tears too. We were laughing through our tears! Breakfast from Whole Foods with some treats from Trader Joes too! Brushed Beauty crushed the hair and makeup game! Meg’s reaction to her gorgeous bouquet from J Starr’s Flower Barn! All of our jaws were on the floor when Jamie brought in Meg’s bouquet!  Spying on Savannah and Abigail! These gals seriously CRUSHED the photo and video game!  Photo-ready!  Luna, Meg and Sean’s pup, walked down the aisle with me and stood up at the front the whole entire time! She did SO well. I have to say…. it was really nice to have a pup up front to pet whenever I needed to! There were a few tears along the way, and she was a huge comfort!  Cocktail hour details! Recognize this?! This is how it all came together day-of!  Love these two! SOOO happy they are officially husband and wife! Meg and Sean spent cocktail hour relaxing with private drinks and eats! Meg said she loved having this provate moment before the reception kicked off! Being the bride and groom can be overwhelming, and it was nice to have a moment to breathe before things kicked back up again during dinner!  I’m in AWE at this space!  Luna had to make an appearance at the reception too! Me and my mom bawled our way through Meg’s dance with our dad. I usually get a little teary during parent dances, but I was not expecting to be this teary!  So grateful for these two… Savannah and Sarah… y’all are the BEST! We used to take these photos ever summer— age order and height order! Here are a few favorites from over 12 years ago + the updated version! It was SO much fun to have so much family In one place. We’ll be back together in 5ish weeks for Katie and Jake’s wedding!  We got some light-up foam sticks as a surprise and oh my GOSH were they fun! Highly recommend— everyone loved them!  After party at Loch Bar got a little rowdy but was so much fun!  The next day, we kept the celebrations going with brunch at Barcocina where I took approximately 0 photos and ate about 4 potatoes worth of home fries and then packed into Meg and Sean’s house to watch Penn State beat Auburn!  Here’s a sneak peek from Savannah! If you haven’t yet, run don’t walk to see her full blog post of gorgeous images recapping Meg and Sean’s wedding day!
